Environment refers to the totality of things that we see around us like humans, animals, plants, air, water, land etc. This environment is polluted when the harmony between these elements is disturbed. Smoke, polythene, deforestation, dims and wastes. Use of chemicals and fertilizers. noise etc. are its major pollutants. Emission of smoke from vehicles and rapid industrialization. lead to serious air pollution in big towns and cities. Water is polluted due to use of chemicals and fertilizers, human waste, etc. Besides, throwing dirt and garbage waste elsewhere pollute the environment by spreading bad smell as well as germs of diseases in the air. Plying of numerous vehicles on the roads, playing of loud speakers etc., cause sound pollution in the residential area. Polythine also contaminates the elements of our environment by disrupting the drainage system. All these forms of pollution affect our lives seriously. Polluted air and water may cause our death. In fact, polluted environment is a threat to our existence. We should thus save our environment from pollution for our survival.
