Air pollution is a very common phenomenon in today's world. It usually occurs in industrial towns, big cities and also in urban areas. Smoke is the main pollutant of air. However, air is also. polluted by fumes of various kinds. Man creates smoke by burning wood for cooking food, making bricks and melting pitch. Mills and factories dispose toxic industrial waste, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide etc. vehicles like buses, trucks, cars etc. use petrol and diesel, and emit heavy smokes. Railway engines and power engines also produce smoke. All kinds of soke mix with air and pollute it. Polluted air affects human lives and environment severely. We can't survive if we can't have fresh air to breath in. To minimize air pollution we must take some effective steps. Excessive smoke-emitting vehicles have to be banned from plying on the streets. Compressed air and CNG driven vehicles should be introduced. Mills and factories have also to be shifted from residential areas.
